The Craftsman Behind Vivid Epoxy Wood
Hello, I'm Ugis – the artisan and founder of Vivid Epoxy Wood. My passion for creating with my hands goes back further than I can remember. From my early career in advertising and print production – where precision, large-format printing and creative execution were part of every working day – to building houses with my own hands, painting, and crafting all kinds of unique pieces that have found their way into homes across Europe.
Working with wood and epoxy resin has been my passion for several years now. What draws me most is the nature of the work itself – no two pieces are ever the same. Every slab of wood has its own grain, its own cracks, its own story. Combined with flowing epoxy resin, each piece becomes something truly one-of-a-kind.
That feeling – of creating something that has never existed before and will never exist again – is what keeps me in the workshop, day after day.
What is Epoxy Resin?
Epoxy resin is a clear, hard material that when poured over wood and left to cure, creates a glass-like surface with incredible depth and durability.
How We Work
Every piece starts with finding the right wood. We source natural slabs with interesting grain, live edges and organic shapes — the kind of wood that already has a story to tell.
From there, we design the epoxy flow around the wood's natural features. The resin is mixed, coloured and poured by hand. It cures over several days, then we sand, polish and finish each surface until it feels as good as it looks.
No two pieces are made the same way. That's the point.
